Steve Watt is the principal performer behind Robot Promotions. He has over 20 years experience as "the man behind the curtain" and has travelled across North America.

His career began in Chicago back in 1986 where he trained under the guidance of Show America, a pioneer in the robot business and creators of Expo Ernie, the incredibly popular robotic mascot of Expo 86 in Vancouver, Canada. In 1997, Steve purchased his own robot and began his adventure as Canada's answer to "Mr. Roboto". In 2000, due to overwhelming demand, he added additional robotic characters to his stable.

From trade shows to sales conferences, retail openings to golf tournaments, Steve is well versed in robot/human interaction. He is extremely skilled at making people stop, delivering a message in a very friendly manner, and most importantly, making people remember the product or company he is representing. Perhaps his greatest skill, besides being able to blend into a crowd, is his strong improvisational skills. Regardless of the type of business or event, he is able to converse as an industry expert with perspective clients and existing customers alike cleaverly interweaving a marketing/sales message during the chat. Armed with a quick wit, a bent sense of humour and the gift of gab, he can bring a smile to pretty much any face and definitely break the ice in a very unique manner at any style event.

According to Watt, "This is the greatest job in the world! Where else can you go, talk and learn a little about the 5,000 people you meet over 3 days at a trade show. Or help someone decide that they really do need a cell phone even though they thought they didn't. Or introduce and poke a little fun at The Minister of Northern Affairs in front of 1,500 people. Or meet and greet a hotel lobby full of guests. Or entertain an entire town of 10,000 people at the opening of a car manufacturing facility. Or leave almost everyone you roll into, with a smile on their face! That's my life as a robot."
